Can you install wide-plank floors in Florida?
Yes — wide-plank floors work well in Florida when installed as engineered planks over a properly tested and controlled slab, since wider boards move more with humidity and demand careful substrate prep.
A wide board expands and contracts more across its width than a narrow one, so in a humid climate the margin for error in slab moisture and acclimation is smaller. Engineered construction shrinks that movement dramatically.
We size the adhesive and confirm slab moisture specifically for the plank width so a 7"–10" floor stays flat and tight.
